RPM is one of largest platinum mines in the Anglo American Platinum umbrella of companies.
RPM is located on Amandelbult, which consists of Tumelo and Dishaba, two underground mines located between the towns of Northam and Thabazimbi in the Limpopo Province, on the northwestern limb of the great Bushveld mineral complex.
Anglo is the world’s second largest producer of Platinum with the world’s largest reserve of PGMs with around 40% of the total world output of which RPM contributes a significant percentage. Other large producers, include Impala, Sibanye, Northam Platinum and Norilsk Nickel.
Anglo American Platinum has listings on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange, SWX Swiss Exchange as well as the Botswana and Namibian Stock Exchanges.
Anglo American Platinum’s parent company, Anglo American PLC, has its primary listing on the London Stock Exchange as Anglo-American PLC and a secondary listing on the JSE.
Anglo American PLC is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index and was rated as being the 274th largest public company in the world during 2020.
